Jesus' crucifixion is clearly the most important event in human history, as it opened the door for man to be reconciled to God. Through the event, Jesus willingly experienced terrible suffering--physically, psychologically, and spiritually--as people mocked and tortured him. In addition he experienced the spiritual agony of being rejected by God, as he took on the punishment for all of man's sins--God's intense wrath toward sin. He did this out of love, allowing us to receive his gift of payment for our sins, and begin a relationship with God.

The Story of Joseph

He was able to thrive in spite of ill-treatment and adversity and we can, too, through God's help.

Should We Continue to Sin?

Romans 6:1-13

In Romans 6, Paul addresses the logical question that arises from grace--couldn't we go on sinning if we're completely forgiven? Paul argues that while it would not jeopardize our forgiveness or relationship with God, sinning is not helpful and is not necessary for Christians. Paul says we have a new life "in Christ" and we are no longer under sin's authority. As we recognize these identity truths in humility and prayer, consider them, and present ourselves to act on them, we will find the ability to overcome even defeating sins.
