Adult/Student Liaisons

To facilitate stronger relationships between Student ministry leaders and Adult ministry, we have developed a program to continue to improve communication and relationships between parents and student leaders. Liaisons, who represent both student and adult ministry, will provide resources and proactive materials to promote understanding and unity, and will help provide a pathway to explore and resolve major disagreements. Our goal is to have a unified pastoral plan that preserves the unity of Christ's community, benefits families, and supports our ministries.

Why It’s Important

We view improving communication and strengthening trust between these two ministries as one of the most important things Dwell can do as a church. Unity between adult ministry and student ministry is challenging, not just in our fellowship, but in most churches. Our desire is to work as a unified team to promote the unity that we have from God.

This is an important agenda for a few reasons:

  • God himself has called us to be unified– We are one church.
Ephesians 4:3 "being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you also were called in one hope of your calling"
  • Satan would love to exploit a weakness like this– There is clearly a powerful movement of the Spirit occurring in Dwell. Satan is well aware of this and is currently working to exploit our weakness in communication between ministries.
1 Peter 5:8 "Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."
  • The state of unity could hamper or help Dwell’s future– Countless movements have been upended by a lack of willingness within groups of people to work together and/or to address concerns. We are optimistic about where God is taking our church and are committed to defending the unity of our fellowship by fighting to preserve the peace that Christ gives us.
Galatians 5:14 "For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another."
