WE HAVE SEVERAL MEETINGS EACH WEEK. WHAT ARE THEY AND HOW DO THEY DIFFER FROM ONE ANOTHER?

Most high school students who regularly attend will participate in two meetings each week – home church (usually on Sunday) and Central Teaching (CT; on Tuesday).

In ancient times, Christians met for church in their homes. Home churches are small Bible study groups, usually of fifteen to forty students, that meet in homes around Columbus.

Central Teaching (CT) is a larger meeting at two venues – Building X (North CT) and the Warehouse Study Center (South CT). At these meetings, hundreds of students enjoy listening to a relevant Bible teaching, hanging out with friends, and sometimes grabbing a bite to eat somewhere.

Both of these meetings are open to non-Christians and we encourage questions about God and Christianity.

In the high school group, we try to follow the Bible’s call and example of regular fellowship with other Christians (see Acts 2:46-47; Hebrews 10:24-25; and the “one another” passages throughout the New Testament). We don't require attendance at any of our meetings and we don't have any formal group membership. However, we do encourage regular involvement because of the outstanding benefits of Christian fellowship!

WHAT KIND OF CHURCH IS DWELL?

Dwell is a grass roots, non-denominational movement of home churches which meet in homes. The high school group has two meetings each week – Home Churches and Central Teaching. Because students build good friendships from these groups, they often start spending time with one another outside of meetings!

WHAT DO WE TEACH AT DWELL?

We teach directly from the Bible. At the heart of our ministry is content-rich and relevant biblical teaching. We are convinced the Word of God is, “living and active,” (Hebrews 4:12). Because we have a high view of students, we believe that they want to be challenged by a reasonable and applicable presentation of the Bible. Furthermore, it is our conviction that spiritual growth and authentic Christian service must be based upon a strong foundation in the Scriptures. For more information, see our statement of faith.

WHO ARE THE LEADERS?

In the high school group, most of the leaders are volunteers that range from college-age through young adult. Leaders are also involved in their own home church with peers. Our ministry approach assumes that qualified leaders will be raised up within our midst. Our volunteers are thoroughly screened and required to have an official background check.

We encourage parents to become acquainted with our leaders! If you do not have the contact information for your student's home church leader, email us at collegehigh@dwellcc.org.
