Body Stewardship for Women

a 5-week class with Abbey Merker

So many women wrestle with body image struggles - everything from constant mental comparisons to other women, social media pressure to fit a certain look, restrictive diets, or overeating. Then there's the reality of aging, body changes after childbirth, metabolism slow downs - you name it! Finding a realistic, healthy balance can be intimidating and often complicated by feelings of shame. This course will explore a biblical understanding of body stewardship and will provide practical input for diet and exercise for women.

Spiritual R & R: God's Restoration and Renewal

a 4-week class with Liz Sweet

Coming into a relationship with Christ creates joy and new life; however, many find themselves limping in the Christian life because of hurt, hardship, bitterness, and/or loss of perspective. The Bible says that God "restores our souls" (Psalm 23: 3), He "heals the brokenhearted" (Psalm 147: 3), and can "fill us with all joy and peace" (Romans 15:13). This class will focus on rekindling your first love, letting God restore you, and renewing your desire and commitment to serve.  Topics will include: God’s grace and love, the power of the word, God’s sovereignty, victorious suffering, eternal perspective, the role of friendship, and rekindling love output.

Saturday Mornings, 9am - 11am

November 16 - December 14 (No class 11/30)

Hammer and Fire: Job

an online class with Pat Reeder

"But where can wisdom be found?

And where is the place of understanding?”

(Job 28:12)

Wisdom literature is often difficult to understand and the Book of Job is no exception. The main character, Job, is subjected to immense trials, losing his family, wealth and eventually health. His wife abandons him and his friends come and blame all of his problems on him. Meanwhile, God and Satan are engaged in a “wager” concerning Job’s righteousness. Such a complex scenario is a perfect storm, making for a razor sharp case study in the theology of suffering and much more.
