Christians are called to love whoever God puts in their paths, to welcome all people into the church and help them play their God-given roles to their fullest capacity. "Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good" (1 Corinthians 12.7).
However, when faced with new or unfamiliar situations, people often tend to pull back or look the other way, typically because they don't know what to do.
We hope these resources will equip believers to relate to people with unfamiliar disabilities with understanding, care and confidence, and to welcome all types of people into real community. For people without disabilities, these stories and resources may encourage and challenge you to integrate your church more fully. For people with disabilities, they may encourage you to take initiative with confidence as you seek to play your role in the church.
