Assembling Together

Dennis McCallum
Exodus 12:3-9

The church in Corinth had many issues. One of the issues that the church faced is selfishness when meeting together! This is something that the church today also can experience. This is not the vision Paul has for this church and he paints a better picture.

Joy & Unity

Jim Leffel
John 17:20-23

Unity in our lives matters because we are witnesses of God's grace and good news. There are many ways in which we can all pursue unity with one another. We learn, not only how we can pursue unity, but that when we pursue unity with the same humility Jesus demonstrated by dying on the cross, we will have real joy in our lives.

Joy & Serving

Jim Leffel
1 John 3:2

Paul expresses a motivation to serve others that is rooted, in part, by the deep connections formed as a result. When we understand, like Paul, that we are victorious with Christ both in this life and the next, we can be free to strive to love others, joyfully.

All Things to All People

James Rochford
1 Corinthians 9:1-23

Paul exemplifies God's grace by foregoing what he is owed by those people to whom he brought the gospel and becoming like those people to better love them. As Christians, we are called to do likewise: to belong to the culture around us, for the sake of bringing the gospel into it.

Joy in Relationships

Jim Leffel
1 John 3:2

Our culture is extremely autonomous. We value independence and freedom above all else. However, at the same time, reports of loneliness have skyrocketed. People have very few real friends. A look at how to build relationships with people and how to experience true joy through relationships.

Unity

Ben Foust
2 Corinthians 5:16-17

The church faces another obstacle: factious disunity. Why is division such a big threat to the church, and what can we do to diligently preserve our unity?\r\n

Community

Ben Foust
Acts 2:42-47

Luke describes the first Christian church in Jerusalem following Pentecost. From this description, we can glean principles for healthy fellowship, living a fulfilling life in community as God designed.

Living in Real Spiritual Community

Dennis McCallum
Acts 18:1-18

Corinth had many issues. It was full of sin and other issues, but it was a place that was open to hearing about Christ! This teaching is an intro to the book of 1 Corinthians and also tackles division in the Body of Christ.

Shepherding vs. Soldiering: Why the Tension?

Mike Woods
Acts 18:1-18

There is a tension between mission-focused verse pastoral-focused mindsets in ministry, we tend to lean towards either task or relationship. In scripture we can see that Jesus has called the church to do both, to have our focus on a mission but to care for others as well. Leaders need to both invest in people and keep the ultimate mission in focus. \r\n
